Be different, together.

Learning should be nurturingas well as academic

Our focus on live, interactive tutorials makes us…

different

We help a range of different students not learning in school learn together. We are compassionate, experienced, professionally qualified tutors who know learning is about more than watching a video; it’s about connecting. We are different, not just with what we do, but what we don’t do.
We believe we learn best when we learn…

together

We create safe and engaging spaces where children interact with us, with each other and thrive. Years of experience have taught us that learning is most effective, most enjoyable and most inspiring when it is done live and in small groups, together. Join us: Be different, together.

“Being different is a good thing. It means you’re brave enough to be yourself.”

Be different, together.

What makes us different?

It’s the things we do (and don’t do!) based on years of experience

✅ Things we do

  • Teach live & interactive tutorials in small groups.
  • Foster curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Promote mental wellbeing and social interaction.
  • Offer opportunities to extend learning with optional homework.
  • Use our broad experience to support a wide range of students.
  • Encourage camera and mic use to develop social interaction.
  • Embrace diversity and promote tolerance.

❌ Things we don’t do

  • We don’t record our tutorials (it discourages interaction).
  • We don’t prevent camera and mic use.
  • We don’t run endless promotions and free lessons.
  • We don’t enforce direct debits or make you pay large sums up front.

We have a strong philosophy.

We’re only ever live. Always interactive.

Our Story

We are two friends with a shared love of learning, teaching and helping children discover the wonder of our respective subjects. We’ve both taught abroad (Nagasaki, Japan and Madrid, Spain), gained teaching qualifications (PGCEs), taught in state secondary schools in Yorkshire, England and tutored since around 2018. We’ve also both worked in Mental Health, Andy in CAMHS and in Mental Health research for the NHS (with the Chimp Paradox team) and Dave as creator and deliverer of courses and training for senior corporate teams. We formed Tutor Led Learning in 2020 and have been delighted to work with so many wonderful children and their families since then. We are delighted to have been Quality Assured by the City of York Council in 2023 and are an Approved Provider of alternative education for a broad range of learners. We also have far too many pets between us including 5 dogs, 3 cats, chickens, ducks, a peacock and a rabbit (at the time of writing!).
