This two year programme of approximately 11 six-week terms (one hour a week) will cover everything required for EITHER Edexcel’s IGCSE in English Language (Spec B) OR Cambridge IGCSE English First Language for examination in summer 2028. The course is taught to small groups of no more than 7 students; a fantastic way for the tutor to get to know each student and for students to get to know and learn from each other.
Live, interactive, online lessons draw on a wide variety of interesting and engaging materials to bring the course to life. Tutor Dave has over 10 years experience of teaching English including Language and Literature with outstanding results.
Students will be encouraged to interact with the tutor and each other in order to further their understanding of the course and content covered. To facilitate interaction and enjoyment the use of student cameras is required. Google classroom will be used to set and mark homework and develop examination skills. Lessons will not be recorded (for reasons outlined here), students will be assisted in catching up should they miss a lesson.
Students should work up to doing two hours a week of self-study. This might be completing homework, extending and developing work from our lessons or by reading a range of fiction and non-fiction.
Lessons must be purchased in advance via the termly ticket options on this page. Examination entry remains the responsibility of the parent/carer though we will assist where we can and can offer a discount code (TLL2021) for bookings made via Tutors and Exams
